Qualifications
BALLET
Starting dance considerably late in life, I progressed through my studio's ballet syllabus with a surprising ease. Training consisted of knowing the body positions; turning out through the hip joint; proper extension of the legs and shoulders; the use of plie; and the technique in which ballet is used. With a focus on mostly Cecchetti, and a bit of RAD, my knowledge through ballet even extends to the levels of pointe, and a level 2 Checchetti.
My Certifications
Through my dance studio, I obtained an Intermediate III level of tap dance. My knowledge consists of knowing the difference between single, double, and triples and how to teach that concept; understanding the beginning steps to developing a proper "wing" and "pull-back." I achieved a certification through the National Dance Examiner's Association with a grade of "Pass Highly Commended" in tap dancing.

JAZZ
My personal and professional achievements are much intertwined at this point in my career. My high-school achievements include the St. Clair Secondary School’s Academic Excellence Award for high-school subjects where I achieved over 87% average between 2012-2015; had the pleasure of achieving over 160 hours of community service through my dance studio and by creating and managing a dance team at Lansdowne Elementary School. I was also a recipient of the School Letter for high academic average with combined subjects and level of performance, participation and community service in 2011.
When it came to my dance career, I was also the recipient of the Rainbow National Dance Competition’s Platinum Award for an overall pre-competitive jazz solo in 2014; Including my grades of "Pass Highly Commended" in tap, and "Pass Commended" in jazz examination from the International Dance Examiner's Association in 2011-2012. I had the privilege of working as a professional dancer in the Guys and Dolls production playing at the Imperial Theatre in April, 2013.

Personal and Professional Achievements
Awards
I achieved a "Pass Commended" grade through the National Dance Examiner's Association in jazz dancing. My knowledge consists of knowing the positions of the body and how to teach that concept; understanding the beginning steps to developing proper facial expressions; and developing the concept of jumps for my students.
As a personal achievement, I'd like to share with you a piece of work I did that resulted in an A+ mark with nothing but positive feedback from my teacher.
